North Dakota
I spent last weekend way up in northern North Dakota, just a few miles from the Canadian border. This Illinois girl had never seen anything quite like it. So flat. Almost no corn. Dirt roads everywhere. Wide open space. And a couple of crops we just don't see in my part of the Midwest - pinto beans & sugar beets. It was definitely interesting. And beyond beautiful. Here are some of the images I captured on my short visit - a huge thanks to everyone at Shady Bend Farm who made this shoot possible.

The "accidental" shots always tend to be my favorites. This is no exception. I was busy shooting something else when I glanced behind me and saw father & son standing there, arms crossed, talking farming like they've done hundreds of times before. So candid. So real.
